Dacron or terylene is a polymer of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. Terylene is prepared by heating a mixture of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid at about 420-460K in the presence of zinc-acetate-antimony trioxide catalyst. It is also called Dacron.

It is used-
- For making cloth by mixing with cotton.
- For making magnetic recording tapes.
