Macromolecular colloids:
In macromolecular colloids, the colloidal particles of the dispersed phase are themselves large molecules called macro-molecules. These molecules have dimensions comparable to those of colloidal particles and their dispersions are called macromolecular colloids. e.g. organicĀ polymers like gum, proteins, nylon, polythene, plastics, polystyrene, starch, cellulose, enzymes, gelatin, etc. Most of the lyophilic colloids belong to this type.
