In β-pleated sheet structure, the long peptide chains lie side by side in a zig zag manner to form a flat sheet. Each chain is held to the two neighbouring chains by hydrogen bonds. These sheets are stocked one upon another to form a three dimensional structure called β-pleated sheet structure. Silk fibroin has this type of structure.
